Solar Net Metering
Net Metering
Net metering is a system in which solar panels or other renewable energy generators are connected to a public-utility power grid and surplus power is transferred onto the grid, allowing customers to offset the cost of power drawn from the utility.
Get Credited For Your Electricity
After your solar system is installed on your roof and your interconnection application is approved, your utility provider will come out and change your meter. Your meter is changed so that it can run both ways, now recording both the electricity that your home consumes from the grid and the excess electricity that your home puts into the grid. When your solar system produces more energy than your home needs, the excess power is sold back to the grid. This is how you are able to offset the cost of your utility bill and receive compensation for the excess power that your system generates.
